CrossFit Vokse | Woman Owned Williston, ND Gym

If you’ve been hanging out with me on Instagram for a while, you probably recognize the next spotlight. Allow me to (re)introduce you to Kallie of CrossFit Vokse, a woman owned Williston, ND gym! She’s a mother, realtor, and dedicated CrossFit trainer serving everyone from grandparents and expectant mothers to firefighters, EMTs, and military.

Weights used in training at CrossFit Vokse are pictured as part of a branding photoshoot with Kellie Rochelle Photography.

CrossFit Vokse

Kallie’s love for CrossFit began in 2014 when it became a staple in her daily routine. Once she saw how the practice transformed her own life, she began coaching as an L1 trainer. After that, it snowballed as she introduced CrossFit teens before she launched her own CrossFit affiliate, CrossFit Vokse. Vokse is a Norwegian word that means grow, which became the mantra for her Williston based gym. She and her team of knowledgeable coaches pride themselves on the growth they see daily in everyone who enters their doors. Like the classes that are modified to each individual’s ability and need, their growth and progress are individualized as well. CrossFit Vokse is for everyone!

Bringing Health to Williston, ND

Kallie founded Vokse in March of 2017 and later that same year, her co-owner, teammate, and business partner, Travis, joined her. Similar to motherhood, running a business is a team effort. Kallie and her team pride themselves on building better humans. Their cause at CrossFit is one Kallie believes in deeply and considers it, “The most effective fitness that can’t be mimicked. EVERYone should be at CrossFit Vokse!” It’s more than a workout, it’s healthcare that helps fight disease, improves mental health, mobility, and health overall. All ages are welcome, and in case you need another reason to stop by, your first visit is free!

Work Life Balance in Williston

For the last seven years, Kallie has poured her heart and soul into her business, often starting her days as early as 4AM. While she enjoys working and being busy, she was open about believing in the value of having a team. “Life and business take a team with great teammates,” she explained. “My team at home, our team at the gym and my team in real estate. Life does come at us in seasons. It’s important to have great people to lean on in the times when the seasons are busy.” At home, she and Landon, her best friend and fiancé are a team. Together, they’re raising 5 girls to which Kallie said, “Yes, you read that right. There’s 6 ladies and 1 man in our household!” Her own daughters were the inspiration behind introducing the CrossFit teens program that later spawned Vokse. It’s a family affair!

Her business has flourished over the years, but Kallie isn’t finished yet! When asked about her biggest accomplishment so far, Kallie answered, “I don’t feel that it’s really my accomplishment, it’s the people that walk through the doors of CrossFit Vokse each day. It’s them, it’s their accomplishment.” Kallie’s hope is to continue to help transform lives and she’d love to see it introduced in schools in place of physical education. If you’re interested in how Kallie & her team can help transform your life, be sure to follow along on Instagram (search #buildingbetterhumans to see them in action!) or stop by for your free intro class.

I listen to a lot of Best Hour of Their Day podcasts and my favorite book is “Atomic Habits“.

We started a new ritual last year that is fun with many hysterical moments of laughter [and a] gingerbread house contest using graham crackers.
