5 Tips to Help You Prepare For An Outdoor Fall Photoshoot

Fall is one of the most popular seasons of the year for sessions! The weather is beautiful, the colors of the season are so rich, and fall allows for some of the most flattering outfits. It is also one of the busiest seasons of the year for photographers. If you are wondering how to prepare for your fall session, my number one piece of advice is to plan early. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your fall session:

Book EARLY

The number one tip for prepping for your fall session is to book your session as early as possible. Fall is an extremely popular time of year for pictures. Spots for sessions fill up very quickly! If you would like to book a session in the fall, I recommend reaching out to your photographer in early to mid summer to check their availability and book your session.

Have Fun WIth your Wardrobe

The texture in fall fabrics like sweaters, leather and flannel photography beautifully. Fall colors are bold and beautiful. Lighting and Location Matter

There’s nothing like a golden hour session in the fall! The warm sunset complements the rich colors perfectly. Prepare for an evening session between one to two hours before sunset. In the fall, this is usually midafternoon or early evening as the days start getting shorter. Choose an outdoor location that will really show off the beauty of the season!
