Williston ND Senior Photo Locations for Guys

Senior

When it comes to senior picture locations for guys, I really do play favorites. Creating individualized galleries for my seniors that showcase their personalities is my top priority. Choosing the right location is a huge component to that, and there are fortunately several options near Williston. Let’s talk about 4 of my favorite Williston, ND senior photo locations for guys!

Trenton Bottoms

This has been a go-to location for me for many years, especially for guys.  Several of my past seniors had outdoorsman hobbies, and there’s no better place to incorporate those interests than Trenton Bottoms.  Even if your senior guy isn’t a hunter, the scenery is still top-notch with lots of options for poses.  And the foliage in the fall? You can’t beat it! This wildlife management area can be secluded, which means more privacy for seniors who don’t want bystanders while they’re being photographed.

Athletic Senior Pictures

If you’re looking for sports senior photos, don’t be afraid to ask about hitting up the ice rink, basketball court, or baseball field. I encourage all of my seniors to make their sessions more personal by incorporating props or, in the case of athletes, uniforms & equipment.  It doesn’t get much more personal (or sentimental) than capturing photos where your senior has spent a good chunk of time playing their favorite game. Senior year often marks the last time they’ll wear a number they’ve held onto for years.  We can capture both the uniform and have one last hurrah where they’ve played their hearts out for the last four years.

Downtown Williston, ND Senior Photos

Downtown Williston is one of the most versatile locations I shoot!  It’s simple to incorporate props like instruments or sports equipment into the session. Not to mention, we can create the appearance of visiting multiple locations when we’re really just strolling from one street to the next!  I love shooting in front of the theatre and switching up from a view down Main Street to the benches and steps for variety.  I’ve also been known on occasion to explore a bit further out to get a more urban feel (for example, the photos with graffiti!)  An added bonus is paying homage to your senior’s hometown before heading off for college or new opportunities!

Farm & Ranch Senior Photos

There’s a bit of a duality to senior photoshoots.  On one hand, there’s excitement and celebration for wrapping up senior year and heading into the big, wide world.  On the other, seniors are closing a chapter.  I approach sessions with the idea in mind of what will they want to look back on in 20 years when they look at their pictures?  If you have a family ranch or farm, especially if it’s been a big part of your senior’s  childhood, please consider selecting it for the senior session!  Aside from being meaningful, we can get some great shots that include the land and the equipment, and it’s a ton of fun to spend the evening exploring a piece of family legacy.

Lewis & Clark State Park

Lewis & Clark State Park is a favorite location of mine for all sorts of sessions, especially high school seniors! The landscape in this nearby park is varied depending on which area we’re shooting, and that keeps their gallery interesting. Bridges, meadows at golden hour, the rocky shoreline at sunset– they never disappoint. Props are welcome here, and we can make it look as though we’ve visited multiple locations without actually having to drive all over creation. It’s a win/win!
