Visit Austin TX for Your Next Destination Session

Travel

When I planned my visit to Austin, TX for the iHeartRadio concert, I knew I was in for live music and good memories. What I didn’t expect was that it would double as the perfect chance to explore, reset with my husband, Wyatt. It became more than a getaway. It became a highlight reel of everything I love: connection, color, and creating.

Moody Center in Austin TX

We got to see the Brooks & Dunn concert at the Moody Center and it was amazing! I couldn’t believe how close we were. It gave us chills in the best way. We stayed within walking distance, right on the University of Texas campus—no parking stress, just city strolls and sunset skies. The music was magic, but the quality time was even better. It was so nice to switch up the North Dakota scenery for country music and the Austin sunset. I can’t wait to go back!

Visit Austin TX

South Congress and The Domain were the real MVPs of our downtime. From the eclectic shops to iconic stops like Home Slice Pizza, we soaked up the Austin vibe one slice and sidewalk at a time. At Tecovas, Wyatt and I each picked out boots (naturally), had them branded with our initials, and got the full VIP treatment—sparkling water, leather coozie, and all. Can we have a moment of appreciation for the scent of leather that fills the streets outside the store? Austin serves up adventure with a side of personality. From street food to skyline views, every corner of this city offers something worth remembering.

We had a breakfast stop at Snooze A.M. Eatery (and trust me, their pancakes alone are worth the flight.) After fueling up, we hit the pavement for a few of our favorite Austin staples. I’m so glad we opted for a rental car so that we could see more of the city. We explored South Congress and The Domain, shopping local boutiques and ended our shopping days at Yard House for sweet potato fries and people-watching.

Must See Austin Attractions

For some fresh air, we made a sunny afternoon detour to Barton Springs Pool, surrounded by paddleboarders, sunbathers, and that breezy Austin vibe. And yes—we definitely earned our steps circling for parking (worth it). And when in Austin, you have to catch the Congress Avenue Bridge bat flight. At dusk, more than a million bats twist across the sky in a surreal, smoky ribbon. It’s one of those weird-but-wonderful traditions that makes Austin, well… Austin.

Austin TX Destination Photoshoots

If you’re craving photos that don’t just look pretty but feel like you, Austin is calling. Whether you’re here for a brand refresh, a babymoon, a senior session, or just want to make magic in one of the coolest cities in the South—this place delivers. Think: skyline golden hours, color-drenched murals, vintage charm & rooftop glow, tacos, boots, and bold style. I shot headshots for my friend and fellow photog, Natasha Sewell, and I’ve been itching to do another shoot because this city is absolutely brimming with potential!

Just picture it for a sec. You show up ready to explore and express yourself. I’ll be your personal hype girl, handle the posing, and the planning. We’ll wander between murals, sip iced coffee (I’ll go for Diet Coke, obvs), maybe catch a rooftop view or wildflower patch, and leave with images that radiate energy, confidence, and you-ness no matter what type of session you’re booking.
