As a senior photographer in Williston ND, I’ve learned one thing for sure—some sessions are worth waiting for. Destiny’s started in the fall with a quick studio moment for her yearbook photo (because yeah…North Dakota wind chills are not the vibe). But we held out for spring—and when it hit, it brought the sunshine and all the bold senior energy we could ask for. From downtown charm to lakefront glow, this local session gave us every mood, every look, and every piece of Destiny’s personality.
Destiny kicked things off repping Williston loud and proud. She wore a black “Senior” sweatshirt, a black mini skirt, and the cutest orange socks that screamed Coyote pride. We found a spot with a peeling brick wall, and honestly, it felt made for her—edgy but full of character, just like this stage of life.
She changed into distressed jeans and a black blouse for round two, and we wandered through a few of my favorite downtown corners. Tall columns, glowing storefront reflections, and benches turned balance beams—we got it all. Barefoot, bold, and beaming, Destiny made downtown feel like her runway.

After downtown, we drove out to Lewis and Clark State Park (one of my go-to local gems). The lake was still and the grass was golden. That moment was so HER—powerful, athletic, and grounded in what she’s worked so hard for.
Destiny changed into a red and white patterned dress with tiered ruffles, cowboy boots, and a wide-brimmed hat. She twirled through driftwood, leaned on washed-up logs, and laughed barefoot in the sand. It was playful, fun, and unforgettable.
Thinking of a senior session with a local park vibe? Lewis and Clark State Park is the perfect spot. Learn more about it here from North Dakota Parks.
Here’s what made this one so special—I’ve been photographing Destiny’s family for years. Seeing her grow up and now capturing this milestone? It’s personal in the best way. My own mama came with to second shoot (because when I say photography runs deep in my family, I mean it).
Being a senior photographer in Williston ND means I get to walk alongside incredible families like this—documenting stories in seasons, not just snapshots. Destiny’s session reminded me that no matter where we shoot, it’s who we’re capturing that makes it magic.
