Miah’s senior travel session in Oregon was an incredible adventure. From breathtaking beaches to vibrant waterfalls and scenic city spots, every location added something unique to her session. Here’s a look at her travel adventure!
This trip wasn’t just about senior photos—it was also a special time spent with family and friends. Miah’s mom, Billie, and her twin sister, Brandy (who is Sam’s mom), were all part of the fun. Every year, we make it a point to travel together, and this session gave us the perfect excuse for another girls’ trip. My mom also came along, making this trip extra special.
My mom and I teamed up for all the sessions, swapping between Miah and Sam so we could each add our own creative touches to their photos. It was such a unique experience to work together while exploring entirely new locations. Neither of us had ever been to Oregon before, so every stop felt like an adventure. Discovering these incredible spots for the first time made this trip unforgettable.
We stayed in the most beautiful house in Oceanside, perched on a hill with views that went on forever. The living room and kitchen had an entire wall of windows overlooking the ocean, and stepping onto the balcony felt like you were part of the waves. The house itself was a dream, complete with a fancy coffee maker that felt like it belonged in a movie.
The beach below had an incredible feature—a tunnel that led to a private stretch of sand. It was such a cool, hidden spot and made the location feel even more special.
Our first session was at Short Sands Beach, where a forest trail opens up to a peaceful shoreline. Miah wore a soft, strapless white dress that flowed perfectly in the breeze. The natural beauty of the location, combined with the golden light, made every shot feel timeless.
At 100 Stairs Beach, Miah switched things up with a fun and casual look. She wore a cute lace long-sleeved top paired with denim bib overalls, and it was adorable. The outfit added a playful, down-to-earth vibe that fit perfectly with the rugged rocks and ocean views at this spot.
The contrast of the delicate lace with the classic denim was such a great choice—it felt fresh, comfortable, and totally her. This location brought out a more relaxed energy in the photos, which made it one of the highlights of the session.
When we arrived at Multnomah Falls, it felt like stepping into a fairytale. Miah wore a vibrant green halter dress that tied around her neck, and it was the perfect pop of color against the lush greenery and cascading water. The falls provided a grand yet peaceful atmosphere that made this session unforgettable.
After exploring the coast and the falls, we headed to Portland and stayed at the Clyde Hotel. With its retro decor, green canvas couches, and 70s-inspired touches, it was the perfect blend of quirky and stylish.
While wandering downtown, we came across a gorgeous church with intricate architecture and timeless charm. It became one of our favorite photo spots, offering a stunning contrast to the energy of the city. Miah looked so natural in this setting, and the photos captured a beautiful mix of elegance and authenticity.
One windy day on the coast, we decided to move the session indoors, using the house’s giant windows overlooking the ocean as our backdrop. The soft natural light and stunning views created photos that turned out to be some of our favorites. Sometimes, a little improvisation can lead to magic!
A few months after Oregon, we had a second session with Miah closer to home at Lewis and Clark State Park. The fall colors and golden light created a beautiful setting for this session.
We captured Miah in her volleyball and basketball jerseys, highlighting her love of sports. Then, she changed into some gorgeous dresses, and we headed into the tall grass for more dreamy, golden-hour shots. The combination of her athletic side and her elegant style gave this session such a well-rounded and personal feel.
Miah filled out a senior questionnaire before her sessions, giving us even more insight into her personality, style, and interests. See below to see what she shared!
Whether it’s a travel session to a new destination or something closer to home, I’d love to help you create senior photos that are just as unique as you are. Let’s make your vision come to life—reach out today to get started!
