Ja’Siyah Wright’s senior session started in the studio here in Williston ND, and right away I loved what she brought with her. She had the cutest school-inspired outfit and a stack of nursing books since that’s what she wants to become. It felt like such a natural way to start her senior session and tie in what she’s working toward after high school.
Her mom came at the beginning, which I always love, but she had to head to work shortly after we got started. Ja’Siyah still had a great group with her though, her sister, cousin, and a friend were all there, which made the start of her senior session really fun.

After about twenty minutes in the studio, we headed over to the high school track for the next part of Ja’Siyah Wright’s senior session. Shooting in a place that’s part of their everyday life always changes the feel a little, and it gave us a different energy to work with.
While we were there, her older sister showed up after work, and that was really fun for me because I had taken her senior photos a few years ago. It’s one of my favorite things when families come back, and it means so much when siblings choose me as their Williston ND senior photographer too.

From there, we drove out to one of my favorite prairie locations outside Williston ND for the final part of Ja’Siyah Wright’s senior session. It’s about a 25–30 minute drive and has a bit of a Badlands feel to it.
Once we got there, I had everyone hop into my SUV since it’s more of a prairie trail than an actual road. Ja’Siyah changed into a white dress, and we spent some time out there with the fall colors just starting to show up. The trees were really vibrant, and we also got photos with her sisters and her cousin, which made that part of her senior session feel really relaxed.

For her last outfit, she switched into a jean skirt and a yellow top. We headed into the tall grass with the fall trees behind her and then made our way out onto the road to finish her senior session.
It ended up being one of those perfect fall evenings in Williston ND about 80 degrees, hardly any wind, and the prettiest sunset right at the end while we were wrapping up.
