Investing in Destination Photography
I’m a destination photographer with a penchant for travel and the holidays are right around the corner. What better time to talk about travel, the ultimate gift idea? Why Invest in a Destination Session?
Let’s be real: you can’t put a price tag on something as priceless as memories with the people you love most. Even in my personal life, I am a huge supporter of experiences over things. When you really take a step back and consider that a carefully planned trip somewhere you’ve never been will make memories that last a lifetime, you just really can’t go wrong with it. I began offering destination sessions for a couple of reasons.
First, I have seven kids, so I look forward to the quality time we spend together on vacations and quick getaways. Next, I have seven kids so I understand the importance of being fully present with my family instead of constantly having my phone or camera out. That’s where I come in as a destination photographer! I can tag along on your trip to document the memories with professional images and you just get to enjoy an adventure with your family.
What Does a Travel Session Cost?
I have different packages available for my travel clients starting at $2000 and they all include product credits. (Because why invest in photos if you never get around to printing them?)Packages are structured & priced similarly to what I would photograph at home in North Dakota, which means that I have to include my travel costs. As much as I’d love to be a professional vacationer (who wouldn’t, am I right?!), this is my business after all and there are overhead costs that go along with it.

So, what changes can you expect to see in my travel session pricing? My lodging & airfare are added to the cost of the session itself. (We can even share an AirBNB to help stick to a budget, I just request my own room & bathroom.) But you get more than the session with me! I do the legwork for finding the most beautiful, least touristy locations for photos to help you have tangible memories of your travels. I’ll provide you with an itinerary and an entire planner to help make your session as stress-free as possible. When you combine the session planning with my extensive client closet, it balances out the cost of the session and it feels practically free, right? #GirlMath

The only kicker is, I wouldn’t mull it over too long because these particular sessions have to be scheduled in advance.
