Travel Photography Must-Haves for Every Adventure

Uncategorized

After several years of photographing travel sessions that span from the dramatic Oregon coast to the sunny shores of Florida, I’ve gotten pretty good at narrowing down what earns a permanent spot in my bag. Along the way, I’ve discovered some game-changing products that make life on the road (and life as a photographer) so much easier. These are the tried-and-true travel must-haves I don’t leave home without. You’ll find my favorites linked below so you can snag them for your own adventures too.

The Multi-Compartment Bag

When you’re traveling with family, the last thing you want is to be juggling a dozen separate bags. That’s why I love this multi-compartment bag. Everyone gets their own designated space—kids included—without having to haul multiple suitcases. It’s a lifesaver for quick weekend getaways or longer trips where staying organized is the name of the game.

External Laptop Charger

Dead batteries are a photographer’s worst nightmare when you’re away from home. My external charger is non-negotiable—especially for keeping my laptop alive when I’m culling, editing, or sending off quick emails between shoots. Compact, powerful, and reliable, this one has saved me more times than I can count.

Space Saver Bags with Mini Vacuum

Packing light isn’t my strong suit, but these space saver bags with a tiny travel vacuum make it possible. I can fit so much more into my luggage without feeling like I’m hauling around an entire house. They’re especially helpful for multi-day trips when bulky clothes or gear would normally eat up all the space.

iWalk Little Chargers

These tiny iWalk chargers are the definition of convenience. They plug directly into your phone—no cord required—and are small enough to toss in any pocket or bag. I like to keep one or two in my travel bag at all times so I never have to worry about running out of power mid-shoot or mid-adventure.

Crossbody Lulu Bag

This little crossbody bag is perfect for keeping all the small essentials. In mine, I keep things like AirPods, cash, or other tiny items allright within reach. It’s lightweight and comfortable, which makes it great for airports, travel days, or just exploring a new city hands-free.

JBL Speaker

A JBL speaker clipped onto my bag is one of those small things that makes a big difference. Whether it’s setting the vibe on location, keeping the kids entertained, or just having music while traveling, this compact speaker packs a surprising punch.

Jewelry Travel Box (Vlando)

The Vlando jewelry travel box keeps everything neat, separated, and protected while I’m on the road. It’s compact enough to slide into a carry-on but roomy enough to hold all my go-to pieces.

2026 Destination Senior Sessions

Travel sessions require a little more planning than your average photoshoot—both for me as your photographer and for you as a family. That’s why I open my books well in advance. I’m now booking travel sessions for 2026, and while that might feel far away, it allows us to dream, prepare, and secure your spot without the stress of last-minute planning.

As a mom of seven (yes, seven!) I know how busy life can get—between sports schedules, school calendars, and everything else on your plate. The earlier we get your session on the calendar, the easier it will be to make your dream location a reality.
