Farm Senior Session in Montana | Adler’s Sunset Shoot

Senior

A farm senior session is one of my all-time favorite types of shoots. There’s something about the textures, the stories in the land, and the layers of history that just make the photos come alive. Adler’s session on his family’s Montana farm was no exception—every corner of their property held something special.

Starting Adler’s Farm Senior Session at the Pond

We kicked off Adler’s farm senior session near a peaceful pond. He brought his trap shooting gun, which instantly added a personal touch to the images. Including hobbies and passions in a session is such a great way to make it meaningful—it’s not just about looking good in the photo, it’s about feeling like you in it.

Sharp Style Meets Rustic Charm

From there, Adler changed into a black suit, and we headed toward the grain bins. The combination of sleek formalwear and the raw texture of farm equipment is what makes a farm senior session so visually striking. His suit popped perfectly against the rugged metal and soft light, making those portraits stand out.

Finding Beauty in the Details

Next, we found an old car and a weathered house—two hidden gems that gave us even more character and depth in the photos. I love how a farm senior session can turn the ordinary into something visually unforgettable. Adler was relaxed, confident, and totally himself throughout the shoot.

A Personal Connection

Sessions like these are always extra special when there’s a personal connection. I’ve known Adler’s mom, Ashley, since high school. Our boys have played basketball together, and her husband, Adam, coaches my son Lane’s team. Ashley and two of her friends came along to help out and keep things light—and honestly, it felt like hanging out with good friends on a perfect summer night.

The Perfect North Dakota Evening

The weather that night was a dream—warm, calm, and golden. It was one of those evenings where everything just works, and the final gallery tells the full story of not just a milestone, but a memory made.

Every Senior Sunday feature includes a little Q&A to help you get to know the senior beyond the photos—here’s Adler’s!
